Connection to Nature

When was the last time you visited your local woods - and stayed?
Over half the population lives within six miles of a forest or small woodland and we think most people don’t visit them at all, or just pass through.
Greenwood Growth makes your local space fun, safe and inviting places to spend time. We want to get you amongst the trees to begin exploring and to feel the positive effect on health and well-being for yourself.

We offer a huge range of support. This includes for new parents and carers, children educated at home, families with disabled children, and for young carers. We also work with schools and provide support to adults through training, learning and coaching.

We also work with older groups and adults to arrange learning, team building and events within the local communities. This helps with their learning needs and allows them to experience and feel more in tune with nature. Our team of compassionate Forest School practitioners enable others to develop as confident, creative and resilient people.

What’s Going off in the Woods?

We actively encourage learning through play and offer loads of great activities in our sessions. You can expect to be involved in all aspects of our fun projects whilst with us. We build all sorts - anything from a den to a hedgehog hide. Sometimes we set up our woodland kitchen and make some tasty mud pies or we might contribute to woodland management or tree planting.

We also make loads of fun art and craft projects too, such as making ‘forest telephones’, leaf art, natural shelters, rope courses, fire and cooking, plus loads more. And we get to discover lots of biodiversity and study the woodland wildlife. Sometimes we sing and play around our campfire and there is always time for a story. Other times we just create a quiet safe haven. It’s a great inclusive environment for all, with the emphasis on FUN! whilst staying safe.

Ultimately we aim to get you guys to be highly involved in all we do, as this is what makes our sessions fun and memorable. We can’t wait to meet you.
